WSAV Sports Anchor, Reporter
Hi there, I’m Andrew Goldstein and I joined WSAV in January of 2021 as a sports anchor and reporter. Bringing sports fans closer to the athletes, stories and communities they care about is my professional mission. I’m so excited to be doing it across the Coastal Empire and the Lowcountry.
Before coming down south, I spent two-and-a-half years as the sports director at the NBC affiliate in Rhinelander, Wisconsin, a place with the exact opposite weather of Savannah. While there, I reported on every Green Bay Packers home game and even got to travel to California for the NFC Championship Game. I also co-directed an original mini-documentary called “If The Shoe Fits” about a Northwoods original sport called snowshoe baseball. (Yes, it’s a real thing.)
Prior to that, I learned how to be a journalist at Marquette University, where I was an employee of the student media organization for one day longer than I was a student. During my senior year, I oversaw a sports department that received numerous statewide and regional journalism awards. I also had the opportunity to do sideline reporting for the BIG EAST Conference, including a brief national TV assignment for the conference’s volleyball championships.
I originally hail from Cranbury, New Jersey, and will always love the state that gave me my attitude, earnestness and love of pizza. (Anyone know a good pizza joint down here?)
When I’m not on the clock, I love reading nonfiction books, hiking on lightly trafficked trails and watching college basketball.
Feel free to connect with me on social media or chat with me if you see me in person! I don’t bite, I promise.
