After almost 10 years in the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry, Andrew isn’t a native – but he’s close.

After graduating from Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama, he spent almost a dozen years at WALA Fox Ten Mobile, working his way up the ladder from Editor to Producer to Reporter before getting a chance to Anchor both News and Sports. During his time in Mobile, Andrew reported on hundreds of stories and witnessed more than a dozen hurricanes, including life-changing moments covering the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana.

This prepared him for the latest task and challenge, covering the dangerous and devastating Hurricane Matthew both in the Lowcountry and Savannah. He was the first reporter back on Hilton Head Island after the storm, and helped keep all the evacuees updated for days afterwards through Facebook Live and his daily stories on WSAV.com

Moving on to Savannah in 2005, Andrew found a happy home as an anchor and reporter. During his time Andrew was part of several Emmy nominated newscasts, and won several Associated Press awards, Bryan Awards and Murrow Awards for various stories, including Best Web Based Story for his profile of animals displaced and looking for new homes after the wildfires in Ware County. In 2014 Andrew also earned a Regional Edward R. Murrow Award from Radio Television Digital News Association for his breaking news coverage of the surprise retirement of Savannah Police Chief Willie Lovett. In 2013 Andrew also earned a Georgia Associated Press Broadcasters Association award for General Reporting for his work on a local trail of sex predators.

Andrew also has had the pleasure of doing color commentary on Georgia Southern Basketball games, spent more than a few weeks on the sidelines of local High School Football games and covered almost all of the teams in the SEC. The highlight was being on the sidelines at Alabama in 2007 when Georgia beat the Tide in Overtime on a Matthew Stafford to Mikey Henderson TD pass (Sorry Rachel and Holden).

An avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Andrew now also roots for all the SEC football teams to beat up on those Yankees!!!

He’s also met his wonderful wife Lisa during his time in the area, and has now learned the wonderful sites, sounds and food of both Savannah and Hilton Head.

He loves story ideas, and happily accepts any questions from viewers.
