Couple Injured in Motorcycle Crash

HINESVILLE, GA -

A Fort Stewart soldier and her wife were injured Monday night in Hinesville when a vehicle pulled in front of their motorcycle.

Hinesville Police Officer Mike Gosseck says the two were traveling westbound on East Oglethorpe Highway shortly after 9 p.m. when the vehicle turned into the path of their motorcycle.

The vehicle was apparently trying to make a left turn.

The motorcyclist slammed on their brakes which caused the bike to slide approximately 68 feet down the pavement before it struck the vehicle.

Both passengers had fallen off by the time the collision occurred.

Police say the couple was taken to Winn Army Community Hospital on Fort Stewart for treatment.

Their conditions are unknown.
