GREENVILLE, N.C. - As the first of several new businesses open in Greenville's "Superblock," local business owners are expecting the project to bring jobs and millions to the city's tax base.

Don Edwards, local business owner and "Superblock" investor, expects 100 jobs to be created and spur future economic investments which will add $200 million to the city tax base.

"The big importance of it is creating the most amount of tax base in the least amount of space," Edwards said. "It's also serving as a catalyst for further economic development in the area."

Campus Corner, a high-end men's clothing store, just opened in the "Superblock," and its co-owners are excited to help their community.

"I'm glad to see downtown Greenville changing," Thomas Alligood said."It's come a long way, and i hope it changes for the better."
