Ratliff leads opening round of the ETA

ELIZABETHTON, TN -    The 20th annual East Tennessee amateur golf tournament got underway Friday at the Elizabethton golf course and defending champion Lucas Armstrong was looking for a repeat performance.plenty of low scores on a nearly perfect day for golf...
Starting with the defending champ...Armstrong...actually got off to a slow start...nice chip at 11 helps him save par... he's plus one.
How about E-T-S-U recruit Cayman Ratliff...great approach for birdie at 11...he shot six-under today, he's your round one leader by 2 strokes.
Tillinghast winner Chip Spratlin...he's been playing well, but still looking to win this one...this is a solid tee shot at the tenth...he'd par the hole...Chip is at minus one.
Over to the front nine...Bryan Sangid is the defending runner-up at this tournament and the Tillinghast...birdies four to get to even par... he finished even on the day.
Now to five...Brad Robinson has had plenty of success at the E-T-A...he drains the putt for par...struggled down the stretch with an 86.
Ben Treadway played a nice round too...par at 10 keeps him at one-under...he would finish even on the day.
