Summer Officially Starts Tomorrow

Posted: Updated:
Summer officially starts tomorrow, but it’s already felt like it for the past couple of weeks, especially the past few days. The reason for our warm temperatures is an area of high pressure that’s been centered right over the top of us. However, as we head into the weekend, it is forecast to shrink and retreat southwest. We’ll start to see temperatures “cool” early next week as the high retreats. The other thing a weaker high pressure will do is open the door for more widely scattered showers and storms next week. Until then, don’t expect more than a handful of showers and storms to roam the area.

FRIDAY: Pop-up showers and storms in the afternoon. High: 96.

Friday Night: Mostly clear. Lows near 73.

SATURDAY: Pop-up showers and storms in the afternoon. Highs near 95.

Saturday Night: Becoming mostly clear. Lows near 73.

SUNDAY: Pop-up showers and storms in the afternoon. High: 94

Sunday Night: Becoming mostly clear. Lows near 72

MONDAY: Pop-up showers and storms in the afternoon. Highs climb to near 93

Monday night: Mostly clear. Low: 72

TUESDAY: Pop-up showers and storms in the afternoon. High near 92

Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy. Lows near 73.

WEDNESDAY: Showers become a little more widespread as a front drapes itself across the southeast. Highs near 91.

Wednesday Night: Mostly clear. Lows near 73

THURSDAY: Pop-up showers and storms in the afternoon. Highs near 92.

Thursday Night: Mostly clear. Lows dip near 73.

Instead of destroying them, The Columbus Police Department is selling hundreds of seized guns. Some of the guns were used in crimes, others were found on the road- all of them now headed back to the streets.“The policeman in me says I’d rather not see that gun back on the street, we’ve already gotten a hold of it once, but you’ve got 550 guns- will every one of them be used in a crime? No. Some of them will be sold to someone that will enjoy the use of that gun for the rest of their life and ...
