KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- For the 11th consecutive season, the Tennessee softball program has finished the year ranked in both national polls.

UT closed 2014 ranked 11th in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 and 12th in the USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 Poll.

Tennessee finished the season with a 46-12 record, advancing to the Super Regionals before losing at defending national champion Oklahoma.

Last season, in 2013, the Lady Vols equaled their highest ranking ever, No. 2 in both polls. That No. 2 ranking tied UT's highest final standing - the Lady Vols also finished 2007 ranked second in the nation in both polls. Tennessee has finished a season ranked in the top 5 of both polls five times in program history - 2005, 2006, 2007, 2010 and 2013.

Tennessee senior shortstop Madison Shipman and freshman catcher Annie Aldrete were named 2014 NFCA Division I All-Americans this spring. Shipman was named a first-team NFCA Division I All-American and Aldrete earned second-team honors.

Shipman has had a star-studded postseason as she has been named the winner of the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award as well as the Honda Award, as the 'best of the best' in softball.
