Tree Crashes On Top Of Car in Ridgeland as Storms Roll Through Lowcountry

Jasper County, S.C. - As storms hung over the Lowcountry tonight, debris blew through the area, blocking roadways and even damaging vehicles in at east one close call outside of Ridgeland.

One vehicle was struck by tree limbs as it traveled down Highway 462, Lowcountry Drive. A tree broke in the wind gusts, amd came crashing down on top of it and its four passengers. The driver says it was a moment of panic, when on the inside of the car things seemed to go black. Luckily, all passengers walked away unharmed.

"The tree was leaning, and a car was coming in the other lane, and I said 'Oh snap!' and all of a sudden the tree just dropped dead on top of us. I was just shaking so bad. I was like, 'Oh gosh, what am I going to do?' It just happened so fast, and it just had me in shock real bad," said the driver, Duane Frazier.

Miraculously, the driver is okay and so are the other three passengers of the Nissan, but he believes the car is totaled.
