Four arrested in the murder of Marcus Ellington

FORT GAINES, Ga. -

Three from Fort Gaines and another from Eufaula have been arrested for the murder of a Morris man.

A joint investigation conducted by the Fort Gaines Police Department and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Sylvester Field Office has resulted in the arrest of four people who are charged with the murder of Marcus Ellington. Felony Murder and Armed Robbery arrest warrants were obtained and Eddie Blackshear, 21, Brittani Baxter, 21, Shundell Wright, 24, all of Fort Gaines, along with Tenikqua Woodard, 19, of Eufaula, were arrested.

Ft. Gaines Police Chief Sam Starling requested assistance from the GBI on May 29 after a 911 caller reported a body laying on Lilly Lane. The deceased was later identified as Marcus Ellington, 29, of Morris, GA.

Ellington died as a result of a gunshot wound.
