UPDATE: Motion to Dismiss Lawsuit Filed in Gregg Allman Biopic Case

CHATHAM COUNTY, GA - UPDATE:   A motion for dismissal without prejudice was filed Tuesday morning in Chatham County Superior Court today in the case of Greg Allman versus Unclaimed Freight Productions.  Attorneys for both sides worked late into Monday night to come to an agreement.

They told Judge John Morse that they were working toward a resolution with respect to the entire civil action.  Attorneys for both sides refused to comment after the hearing so no word yet on what the resolution might be.  News 3 will continue to follow this story and bring you the very latest.

Attorneys for Gregg Allman are making their first court appearance on Monday in a lawsuit against producers of the movie, 'Midnight Rider,' which is based on the Allman Brothers Band singer's life story.


While Allman is not in court, his attorneys have asked for an injunction and relief to stop Unclaimed Freight Productions from continuing production on grounds that their rights expired after principal photography did not start by February 28th as called for in the contract.

The plaintiff also claims that Gregg Allman's reputation will be irreparably harmed if this production continues.

Unclaimed Freight director, Randall Miller took the stand Monday afternoon. He is being questioned about his contract and the events on February 20th that took the life of crew member Sarah Jones.
