Huge gator surprises SC lawmaker driving from Myrtle Beach

Posted: Updated:
South Carolina Rep. Wendell Gilliard sent video to our Media General station WCBD in Charleston showing a gator crossing the road Sunday afternoon.

The email stated, "Saw this [Sunday] coming from Myrtle beach."  He had gone to Sandy Island boat landing  and while leaving the dock area he  encountered the very large gator crossing the road.

The video shows Gilliard's vehicle approach as the gator crossed in the opposite lane.

Gilliard added in the email, "I see why the people on Sandy Island need a ferry boat instead of having to use only small boats to go on and off the island".
