Beaufort Loses Red Lobster and Olive Garden Restaurants

Posted: Updated:
BEAUFORT, S.C. - Beaufort is two restaurants fewer tonight. Red Lobster and Olive Garden at 2045 Boundary Street closed business permanently on Saturday morning.

One staffer said she and her fellow employees learned of the disappointing news the morning of the closing, when an emergency meeting was called to inform the team they would no longer have their job at the Beaufort location. She says they would have the option of transferring to different locations nearby, as Red Lobster shutdown several other locations across the country due to new ownership corporately. Apparently, Olive Garden closed simply because it was attached to Red Lobster.

The sign posted on the door directs guests to visit Charleston for Red Lobster, and Bluffton for Olive Garden. Guests drove by disappointed and shocked to hear the news. Semi trucks were there to pack the remains of the buildings.
