Farr Road shooting victim dies in hospital, 9th homicide this year

Posted: Updated:
COLUMBUS. Ga. - Clifford Kendrick, 50, died Monday morning at the Midtown Medical Center after being shot on April 9, according to Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan.

Kendrick was shot in the buttocks inside his mobile home on Farr Road. He was transferred to the Midtown Medical Center where he was in critical condition until Monday when he succumbed to his injuries. His body will be send to Atlanta for an autopsy.

Police are now looking for two to three suspects, two of whom they describe as black males ages 17 to 20. Investigators do not have a description of the third suspect.

Kendrick's brother, Melvin, visited him in the hospital after the shooting. He tells News 3 Clifford let the men in his home because he recognized them. The victim could not speak, but was able to indicate that one of the suspect's names starts with the letter "A."

If you have any information regarding this case, you're asked to call Columbus Police's Homicide Division at (706) 653-3400.

Kendrick's death marks the 9th homicide of the year, according to Bryan. However, only 8 have been ruled as murders, as the Columbus State shooting of Zikarious Flint is still under investigation by the GBI.
