Savannah PD Looking for Car that Hit Young Boy

Posted: Updated:
SAVANNAH, GA - Traffic investigators from the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department say they are searching for the vehicle that struck a pre-teen bicyclist and then fled the scene on Saturday night.

The SCMPD says that 11-year-old Malik Pridgen was transported to Memorial University Medical Center with serious injuries after he was struck near the corner of East 35th and LeGrande Streets just before 8:30.

Police say the boy was riding his bike southbound on LeGrande when he was struck by the newer model, silver four-door sedan, possibly a Chrysler Sebring, that was traveling east on 35th. Savannah PD says the vehicle was occupied by a black male with a dark complexion and a short afro.

Anyone with any information on the vehicle or its driver is asked to call Crimestoppers at (912) 234-2020 or text CRIMES (274637) using the keyword CSTOP2020. Tipster remain anonymous and may qualify for a cash reward.
