Our Hometown: Groves High School Celebrates Month of the Military Child

SAVANNAH, GA - April is the Month of the Military Child. It's designated to show support for children who have parents in the military.

Military children face unique challenges including frequent moves, parent deployment, and life transitions.

Throughout the month, Groves High School has been showing support for military children to thank them for their strength and sacrifices.
Some of the "Purple Up" activities include student spotlights of military students during the morning announcements, a poster contest, posting a "Wall of Fame" of military students, a "Purple Up" dress down day and more.

The event will culminate with a closing ceremony on Wednesday, April 30, at 4:00 p.m. in the school's gymnasium.

News 3's Kim Gusby will emcee the event which includes the presentation of certificates to military students.
