Beaufort County Board of Elections to Hold Photo ID Sessions

BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. - The Beaufort County Board of Elections and Registrations will hold two sessions to assist those who wish to obtain a Voter Registration Photo ID.

The first session is set for Sunday, April 27, at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Beaufort from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be another session on Saturday, May 3, at the St. Helena Island Branch Public Library from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Both of these are free to the public.

Effective January 1, 2013, the State of South Carolina adopted a new Voter Photo Identification law. This law requires all registered voters to present one of five types of photo ID when voting. Those five types include a S.C. Driver's License, S.C. DMV Identification Card, S.C. Voter Registration Card with a photo, Federal Military ID, or a US Passport.

Photo IDs can also be obtained by visiting one of the Beaufort County Board of Elections and Registration offices, either at 15 John Galt Rd in Beaufort, or at 61-B Ulmer Rd in Bluffton.
