The Hollywood Reporter confirmed Friday that Gregg Allman, singer in the legendary southern rock group The Allman Brothers, asked that his own biopic not be made.

Midnight Rider  is the working title of the movie based on Allman's life and was set to shoot in the Savannah area before Sara Jones, a camera assistant on the film, was killed in a train accident while the crew was shooting on tracks in Wayne County that belong to CSX.
Randall Miller, the director of the film, has said he will continue with the film, but in Los Angeles.

The Hollywood Reporter says Allman wrote a letter to Miller pleading with him not to move forward with the production.

For more on what Allman said in the letter, read the Hollywood Reporter article, here.
