STATESBORO, Ga. - The College of Charleston Cougars scored two runs in the eighth inning and held on to win 5-3 over the Georgia Southern Eagles Wednesday night.

Ryan Welke led off the eighth inning with a double and scored two batters later on a single from Bradley Jones putting College of Charleston (28-13) up 4-2. Champ Rowland provided another insurance run with a RBI fielder's choice.

Georgia Southern (27-16), who had trailed 3-0 since the fifth inning, scored two runs in the seventh inning and pulled to within a run of tying the game on a pinch hit double off the bat of Hunter Thomas. Thomas scored a two-out double in C.J. Brazil and a walk of Cal Baker.
