Name of Seale murder victim released

SEALE, Ala. - The Russell County Sheriff's Department is investigating a murder in Seale, Alabama, Sheriff Taylor confirms to WRBL News 3.

Eric Tunnell Anderson, 23, was found dead in a trailer home Tuesday afternoon, according to Sheriff Taylor. Taylor tells News 3 that Anderson was renting a trailer home on Avalon Circle in Seale. Anderson's friend and landlord went to check on the him after the friend had not heard from the man in a few days, said Sheriff Taylor. When they walked into the trailer home, they found the dead body and called the Sheriff's Office, Sheriff Taylor said. Sheriff Taylor says Anderson was probably killed around the 18th of April and was in his residence deceased for 3 or 4 days.

"We're investigating this as a homicide," Sheriff Heath Taylor told the media at the scene. "It does not appear to be accidental, or of natural causes or self-inflicted."

Anderson was a student at Chattahoochee Valley Community College. He was originally from Caty, Texas but was in Alabama for college. He lived in the area for just over a year. Sheriff Taylor says that several significant items were missing from the trailer home which could mean it was a home invasion. However, Taylor says they are not ruling out any possibilities at this point.

The body has been sent to Montgomery for an autopsy and the preliminary results should be available in a few days, according to Russell County Coroner Arthur Sumbry.

Taylor says this is the second murder this month in Russell County. Last week, Belinda Williams was arrested in the murder of her boyfriend Anterio Wynn. Wynn's body was found in his trailer home off Lamb Road near Seale. Authorities said the two had gotten into a fight before the shooting.
