Savannah Police Investigate Fatal Shooting on Easter Sunday

SAVANNAH, GA - UPDATE: Police have identified the man killed in the Easter Sunday shooting in Savannah. 

They say, Malcolm Xavier Raphael Mitchell, 21, died after being shot at the intersection of Waters Avenue and East 38th Street.

Savannah Chatham Metropolitan Police have the area of Waters Ave and 38th Street cornered off with crime scene tape. Around 12:45 p.m. police were called to the scene where they found a man shot in the street.

The SCMPD Spokesman, Julian Miller, said the victim was in a white sedan when shots were fired from another car striking him. The white sedan came to a stop in a yard. The man was taken to the hospital. The victim's name has not been released yet or his condition.

Police do not have a description of the suspect or the car where the shots came from.

"We are in an area where a lot of people are moving around and anybody who saw anything or heard anything if they can give us a call at CrimeStoppers or the  detective line that would help us. ," said Miller.
