Four in custody in Morehead City drive-by shooting

MOREHEAD CITY, N.C. - Police have made 4 arrests in a drive-by shooting in Morehead City.

It happened at the intersection of Highway 70 west and the Crystal Coast Shopping Center late Friday.

Witnesses told officers responding to the scene that two vehicles engaged in an exchange of gunfire.

Three men and a juvenile were found in one of the suspect vehicles, a silver Toyota Camry. That vehicle had bullet holes and shattered windows. They were taken into custody in Havelock, when the vehicle was stopped on McCotter Boulevard.

19-year-old Demetre Lakwanne Frazier of Havelock is charged with conspiracy to discharge a firearm into an occupied vehicle and possession of a firearm by a felon. He’s in the jail under a $90,000 bond.

19-year-old Shaquan Marqarius Frazier is charged with conspiracy to discharge a firearm into an occupied vehicle. He’s out of jail on a $10,000 bond.

27-year-old Terry Kendell George Jr. of Newport is charged with discharging a weapon into an occupied dwelling or moving vehicle, possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of a stolen firearm. He’s in jail under a $200,000 bond.

An unnamed juvenile is in the New Hanover Correctional Facility in Wilmington in connection with the case.

A second vehicle hasn’t been located. Police say the white SUV with Florida tags may have possible bullet hole damage. If you’ve seen it, contact Morehead City Police at 252-736-3131.
