Comcast Ranked America's Worst Company

Posted: Updated:
SAVANNAH, GA -

The first congressional hearing has wrapped up on the proposed merger of America's two largest cable TV companies.  An executive at the larger of the two companies, Comcast, is promising nothing in the merger will cause customers bills to increase.  But just how much do customers like Comcast?

A national survey just voted Comcast the number one worst company in America, of any kind.  And here in Savannah, residents don't have a lot of options, if you want cable, Comcast is the only game in town.  It seems everyone has something to say when it comes to Comcast.

"Right now we've only got about 60% of the channels that we're supposed to get. Like every third channel doesn't come in," said Savannah resident Jesse Bushkar.  "One of the Comcast representatives actually reached out to me and tried to schedule an appointment, but when the appointment was scheduled, no body showed up."

The website The Consumerist ranked Comcast America's number one worst company, for the second time, with its Golden Poo trophy.

"We'll I would say we're working everyday to improve customer experience," said Comcast official Andy Macke.

Macke says the customer experience is a top priority, including investing in broad band, new video platforms, and adding Wifi hot spots.  They also contribute to the community by employing 250 local workers and investing in programs like those promoting digital literacy.

"Over the past three years we've been able to connect 1,000 families to the power of the Internet to have access to education, health care and government services," Macke said.
