More than a decade ago, Catrina Raiford was so heavy, there wasn't an ambulance large enough to transport her to the hospital when an emergency came. Rescue crews had to cut her out of her home and drive her to the hospital on a flatbed truck.

Raiford was almost one thousand pounds. She was not embarrassed though.

“I was like oh my gosh, I'm actually outside… I was like king of the world,” she said.

That was the summer of 2002. That moment was the tipping point in her life, it changed her.

“I don't think I'm supposed to be like this,” she said more than a decade ago.

It has been a lot of ups and downs, she says, but she's made it through. CatrinaRaifordd is more than 500 pounds lighter now and lot happier. But she remembers.

“I got up to 955, yeah when you did the story I was 955,"Raifordd said. "They weighed me on the bed, because the bed went up to a thousand pounds. When I got up there (to Ohio), they couldn't get me up right away, so even when I was 860. I was like whoa, I let myself get to that point.”

After our initial story, she went to a weight loss clinic in Ohio for several years. She continues to shed the weight, through water aerobics and eating right.

“It's portion control," she explains. "I do a lot of proteins and stuff, drinking a lot of water now.”

Now she has the weight of pressure to raise money to surgically remove excess skin. She said it'll cost her $10,000.

“When you lose a lot of weight a lot of it doesn't snap back,” she said.

And through shedding old emotional skin, she has a message for all of us.

“Anything you wanna do, you can do it,” she promises and smiles.
