Funeral services are being held Tuesday morning for a Chicago-area father and daughter who died after their small plane crashed on McMullen Booth Road in Safety Harbor on March 22, according to the DailyHerald.com.
Katherine Bronken, 15, and her father Jeffrey Bronken, 53, were on their way to Clearwater with Katherine's friend Keyana Linbo, 15, when the plane Jeffrey Bronken was piloting clipped a wire and crashed onto the median.
The crash happened at about 4 a.m. about six miles north of where they had planned to land at the St. Petersburg-Clearwater Airport.
A NTSB report said that Bronken had reported a fuel emergency, saying the plane was low on gas. After the crash NTSB investigators reported that the there was only four ounces of gas in the Piper plane's left main fuel tank.
Jeffrey Bronken died in the crash. His daughter, Katherine and her friend Keyana Linbo were transported to St. Joseph's Hospital. Katherine died on March 26 from injuries she received in the crash.
Keyana Linbo was released from the hospital, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.
