3 teens charged with breaking into Durham home, possessing drugs

Posted: Updated:
DURHAM, N.C. -

Deputies arrested 17-year-old Marquavious Caulder and Raymond Devalle III, also 17, after they broke into a south Durham home Wednesday morning. A 15-year-old male was also arrested, but his name is being withheld because he's a juvenile.

An alert neighbor called the Sheriff's Office after witnessing the suspects cruise the neighborhood, park on the street, and walk behind his neighbor's home located in the 600-block of Braden Drive around 9:45 a.m. Friday.

The young men broke into the home through a back door and left the scene quickly--before deputies arrived. However, a deputy responding to the call spotted a car that matched the description given by the witness and stopped it. A short investigation determined the young men in the car were the same who had broken into the home on Braden Drive.

Caulder has been charged with possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, breaking and entering, felony conspiracy and damage to property. He remains in the Durham County Jail under a $52,500 bond.

Devalle has been charged with breaking and entering, felony conspiracy and damage to property. He remains in the Durham County Jail under a $30,000 bond.

The juvenile was released to his parents and juvenile charges are pending.
