Winn Dixie looking to hire more workers

A large scale remodel at a local grocery store will open the door for more workers.

Winn Dixie on Veterans Parkway will hold a Job Fair Wednesday. The store is looking for full and part-time positions from management to cashiers, baggers, deli, bakery, grocery, dairy, meat and seafood departments.

The Job Fair will be held at the Veterans Parkway store located at 6770 Veterans Parkway from 9 am until 4pm.on Wednesday, March 26.

Applicants are encouraged to dress for interviews and fill out an online application first by visiting http://www.winndixie.com/careers

    Two tractor-trailers collided Friday morning in Phenix City.It happened on US-431 near Chattahoochee Valley Community College.Officials say a tractor-trailer carrying recycled cans flipped over- after it couldn't stop at a red light. The semi then slammed into a car and a logging truck. Crews cleaned up the cans that spilled onto the highway as traffic backed up for miles. Nothing spilled from the logging truck. 3 people were sent to the hospital--but no one was seriously injured.
