Enrollment Event Saturday Ahead of Health Care Overhaul Deadline

Posted: Updated:
SAVANNAH, GA -

The White House says it won't push back the March 31 deadline to sign up for coverage under President Barack Obama's health care law, but if you already started an application, you may get some extra time to finish it.

Spokesman Jay Carney told reporters Friday that the administration wants to make sure - quote- "that people who are already in line can finish their enrollment."

This weekend an enrollment event is being held at the Savannah Civic Center for people in the area who need assistance getting signed up for coverage under Affordable Care Act. The event is scheduled to run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday on the second floor of the Civic Center in the O'Connor and Simms & Traub rooms.

Applicants are asked to bring the following documents for every member of their household who needs to complete an application for coverage:

• Social Security card(s)
• Birth certificate(s) or legal immigrant number(s)
• Employer proof of income (pay stub, W2 form, tax return)
