A Bulloch Co. Grand Jury has indicted a Statesboro man on charges related to the death of a 4-month-old child.

29-year-old Allan Ray Williams faces murder charges in connection to the death of his baby, who passed away in September 2013.

Investigators say Williams initially told them that the child choked while drinking a bottle in his crib and upon noticing, he called for help. However, deputies say based on multiple interviews with Williams, inconsistencies appeared in his story. An autopsy later revealed that the child did not die as Williams had indicated.

The Grand Jury indicted Williams on the following charges: Felony Murder, Cruelty to Children in the 2nd Degree, and Making False Statements.

Williams remains in custody with no bond at the Bulloch County Jail.
