More people in Virginia are pushing for a law against domestic violence. Students at Virginia High School are asking for a local senator to present the proposed law.

Kristin Palmer was an English and drama teacher at Virginia High School for more than 20 years. According to investigators, Kristin, her mother Nancy, and her son Griffin, were killed by Kristin's husband, Kevin, on February 25th in Glade Spring, Virginia. The day before they were killed, Kristin filed for an order of protection against her husband.

Because of this tragedy, students at V.H.S. will meet at 11:00 AM, Thursday, with State Senator Bill Carrico. The students are encouraging him to introduce a domestic violence bill, we're told they want to call it "Griffin's Law", in memory of their late teacher, Kristin and Griffin.

A petition to strengthen existing domestic abuse laws is also making its way across the region by Internet. It still needs nearly 7,000 signatures, but the man who created the petition would hope to name it "Kristin's Law".
