JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) - A body found behind a Johnson City apartment complex has been identified as 19-year-old Jeramy Kazen, who had reportedly been missing since Feb. 7.

According to the Johnson City Police Department, officers started investigating Kazen's disappearance on Feb. 13, but said the investigation did not reveal any credible leads into his disappearance or his whereabouts.

On Saturday, a resident at Plymouth Ridge Apartments, 2560 Plymouth Road, reported seeing something floating in the retention pond behind the complex.

Johnson City/Washington County EMS and their Dive Team Unit recovered a body from the pond, and were able to identify the body as Kazen because of his distinctive tattoos.

His body was taken to William L. Jenkins Forensic Center, where an autopsy has been ordered to determine cause of death.

The investigation into Kazen's death is ongoing.
