FPCA Highlanders Head to State Title Game

They have dedicated the season to the late Ernie Walthour... and they are one game away from winning it all.

First Presbyterian Christian Academy surged forward in the second half to defeat Griffin Christian 86-78 in the Georgia Independent School Association Class-AA State Semifinals at Mercer University in Macon.

Miguel Pineda and Wallace Smith each scored 26 points to lead the Highlanders.

FPCA head coach Shane Smith become friends with Ernie Walthour when they were 13 years old. Smith had agreed to come coach in Liberty County, but as an assistant to Walthour.  Now he's leading the way in his old friend's memory.

FPCA will take on Furtah Prep Saturday at 5pm in Macon.
