GSU's Mizell Nabs Weekly SoCon Honor

Mizell Named SoCon Player of the Week 

STATESBORO, Ga. -  Aaron Mizell was named the Southern Conference's Player of the Week for the week of March 3rd.

Mizell went seven for 16 with three home runs and seven RBI in four games last week. The junior outfielder hit all three home runs on Sunday with two coming in the 20-5 win over Ohio. Mizell plated five runs against the Bobcats and went three for five in the game on Sunday. 

Mizell recorded a hit in all four games this week and scored two runs in each of the final three games. He also tallied two doubles and posted a 1.125 slugging percentage, while helping Georgia Southern to a 3-1 week.

Mizell is the second-straight Eagle to win the award. Stryker Brown was named the SoCon Player of the Week last week. 

The Eagles return to the diamond at the College of Charleston on Wednesday and will host Holy Cross for a three-game set this weekend. First pitch on Friday is set for 6 p.m.
