Dr. Ashanti Johnson, isa Chemical Oceanographer/Geochemist. Her work as an aquatic radiogeochemist wasinstrumental in decoding the environmental effects of potentially hazardousincidents throughout Puerto Rico. She was acclaimed for her mentorship byPresident Barack Obama. Johnson has helped 159 students achieve a Ph.D. inearth system sciences. She is a former professor at Savannah State University.
