Celebrating Black History: Savannah Pharmacy

Yamacraw Chill Tonic, Long Ease Cold Medicine, and Homemade Ice Cream were some of the patented and noteworthy items of Savannah Pharmacy. The pharmacy first appeared in 1907.and by 1914 it prominently would be fixture in the community until 2007.. At one time the Savannah Pharmacy had locations operating on Augusta Avenue, West Bay, Fahm, West Broad, and Randolph Streets. During its operation it was the second oldest African American business in Savannah. Parents loved the medicines and the children loved ice cream.
