UPDATE: Police Arrest Man Wanted For Burglary, Intent to Rape, Kidnapping

GLYNN COUNTY, G.A. -

The Glynn County Police Department arrested Dene Stephens, 29, of St. Simons Island early Sunday morning.

Stephens was wanted for burglary, and aggravated assault with intent to rape, and kidnapping.

The Glynn County Police Department is looking for 29-year-old Dene Stephens of St. Simons Island. Police said warrants were issues for Stephens after a woman said when she arrived home around 3 a.m. on Saturday, an unknown black male was inside her home and attempted to sexually assault her. Police said a struggle ensued and the man fled the apartment on foot.

With the assistance of the Glynn County Sheriff's Office, the suspect was identified as Dene Stephen. Warrants have been issued for Stephens arrest for burglary, aggravated assault with intent to rape and kidnapping. Anyone with information concerning his whereabouts should immediately contact the Criminal Investigations Division at 912-554-7800 or Silent Witness at 912-264-1333.
