A Savannah man is charged with 3 counts of animal cruelty, this after police say they found a badly malnourished dog in a pen with a decaying dog. It happened  at a home in the 1200 block of Damon Street.   A third sick dog was tied to a fence.  Investigators say the animals appear to be pit bulls and pit mixes and had injuries consistent with dog fighting.

56 year old John Spaulding faces several charges including three counts of animal cruelty. Savannah Chatham Animal Control removed the dogs remains and transported the other animals to an emergency Veterinary Hospital.
