Bulloch Academy Hires Benedictine Grad Hennessy as Football Coach

Hennessy named new BA head football coach

 

Terence Hennessy, an 18-year coaching veteran and former STAR teacher, has been named the new head football coach at Bulloch Academy.

Hennessy, 36, spent the past year as the head football coach at Edmund Burke Academy in Waynesboro. The English teacher was named the school's STAR teacher. Hennessy spent six years at EBA where he coached football, basketball and track.

The Savannah, Ga. native replaces Ronnie Hodges, who spent 10 years at Bulloch Academy and the last three as the Gators head football coach.

Hennessy has also coached at Southeast Bulloch High School for one year and Benedictine Military School for 11 years. The 1996 graduate of Benedictine coached football, soccer, wrestling and track.

In football, his teams at EBA reached the state finals twice, the state semifinals once, have won one region championships. At BC, the Cadets won a region title and had nine state playoff appearances with Hennessy on staff. The former Cadet has been a head coach, assistant head coach, offensive coordinator, offensive line coach and a special teams coordinator.

In soccer, he was the head coach at Benedictine. His teams won a region championship, reached the state quarterfinals twice and were in the state tournament four times. He was named Area Coach of the Year twice. His record was 70-16-1.

In wrestling, he was an assistant at Benedictine. The Cadets finished in the Top 10 twice and qualified for the state duals tournament three times.

He and his Melanie have been married 12 years. The couple have two daughters, Katrina (10) and Brianna (five).
