Alabama Severe Weather Preparation Tax Holiday

Posted: Updated:
The state of Alabama scheduled it's third annual state sales and use tax holiday so its residents can prepare for any severe weather situation.

The holiday is Friday, February 21st through Sunday, February 23rd.

Exempt items must be $60 or less per item. The list includes various batteries, ice packs, duct tape and plywood.

All portable generators and power cords are also exempt as long as they are under $1,000 each.

These are a few of the items exempt of state sales tax. Local sales tax may still apply. For a complete list of exempt items click on the following link: http://revenue.alabama.gov/salestax/WPHolidayQuickRefSheet14.pdf
