Small Raleigh rally seeks minimum wage hike

RALEIGH, N.C. -

A small rally at Moore Square in downtown Raleigh Wednesday pushed Congress to raise the minimum wage.

Organization for Action says it is a non-profit, non-partisan group, but it lists President Barack Obama's website for more information.

Organizers held signs at Moore Square Wednesday to raise awareness for the minimum wage issue. The federal requirement is a minimum wage of $7.25 per hour. There were only half a dozen people at the rally.

Obama has asked Congress to raise the minimum wage and took action requiring federal contractors to pay employees at least $10.10 an hour.
