JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) -

A Johnson City woman crashed her car into a local dry cleaners Wednesday morning, causing damage to the business.

Freeman Taylor, owner of Quik & Grady’s Dry Cleaners, 425 W. Walnut St., said he and his employees were in the building cleaning clothes when the crash happened.

“All of a sudden I heard a big boom,” Taylor said. “A car came down Walnut Street and came right in the front of our building.”

Kathy Kniffen, a worker in the store, said “we heard the crash and I turned and saw Mary running and saw the Coke machine come flying through the building and then saw the car. It just happened so fast.”

Police who responded to the scene of the crash said the woman driving the Nissan was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries.

Taylor said the dry cleaning business would remain open for business Wednesday.
