The Tattnall County Sheriff's Office says escaped inmate Chad Dasher has abandoned a stolen pickup truck in Twiggs County, Georgia.

The department says Twiggs County Deputies are searching for Dasher in the area.

The Tattnall County Sheriff's Department says escaped inmate Chad Dasher has stolen an SUV from Long County. The vehicle is described as a 2004 Tan Chevrolet Silverado Extended cab truck. The GA Tag Number is "CV3226".

Sheriff's Deputies says the vehicle has a dented chrome bumper on the front and a diamond plated style tool box in the back of the truck bed. There are also deer tracks on both of the back windows.

The Tattnall County Sheriff's Office says escaped inmate Chad Dasher was seen in the area on Monday night. The Tattnall County Sheriff's Office says an SUV they believe belongs to Dasher has also been recovered in the area.

The department says a resident says Dasher came to his home and spoke to him. Dasher was driving what is believed to be the stolen 2002 black Toyota Sequoia that was taken in New Hope, Alabama. That car has now been recovered.  

The U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force says they are now offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Dasher.

Dasher escaped from the Tattnall County Jail on January 24th, when he executed an elaborate plan to breach jail security and escaped through the jail's roof.

Dasher was being held at the Tattnall County Jail on multiple charges for a multi-county crime spree that occurred in Georgia in 2012. Dasher is a 5'9" white male and weighs 140 pounds. He has green eyes and brown hair.

CNN affiliate WHNT out of Huntsville, Alabama tells News 3 that Madison County deputies are currently searching for Chad Everett Dasher, an escaped inmate from Tattnall County.

Authorities say a chase started at 1:00 a.m. in a town called, New Hope.

Deputies say they attempted to make a traffic stop when Dasher led them on a chase.

Dasher and another inmate, Raymond Smith escaped from the Tattnall County jail in January after they cut a hole in the roof.

Smith was caught over the weekend in Texas.
