Five Suspects Arrested Following a Shooting in Ridgeland

Posted: Updated:
Ridgeland, SC -

Ridgeland Police have arrested five suspects in connection with a shooting.  Investigators believe that this shooting was in retaliation for a shooting that occurred earlier Tuesday morning at Woodridge Apartments.   Police were dispatched to 163 Shadetree Street around 11:41 for a call where several shots were fired into the residence.  A suspect and vehicle description were given to dispatch by a caller, police spotted the vehicle and suspects matching the description just minutes after the call.  Police said the vehicle was stopped and two suspects ran from the vehicle into the woods and one of the suspects discarded a firearm during the foot chase.  Within six minutes of the original call all five suspects were in custody with the assistance of the Jasper County Sheriff's Department.

Three handguns were recovered during the arrest.  A records check showed one handgun was stolen from a vehicle on Hilton Head Island in 2010 and another was stolen out of Georgia.  A Beaufort County Deputy along with his K-9 assisted in the search and recovery of the discarded weapon.

The following is a list of the five suspect and their charges:

1)      Kadeem Jabril Zeigler, 21 years old                          Charged with Attempted Murder

2)      Nathanel Drayton III  26 years old                          Charged with Attempted Murder

3)      Akeem Shmar Jenkins, 19 years old                         Charged with Attempted Murder and

                                                                                 Possession of a stolen handgun

4)      Javante Kwame Pringles, 20 years old                       Charged with Attempted Murder, possession of handgun with obliterated serial number and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.

5)      Glenn Docosta, 23 years old                                     Charged with Attempted Murder

Police said Kadeem Zeigler is currently out on bond for an October 2010 charge of Attempted Murder and Possession of a handgun during a violent crime in Beaufort County.   All five suspects are in the Jasper County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
