Ridgeland Man Wanted for Attempted Murder

Ridgeland Police responded to a call at WoodridgeApartments after several shots were fired around 8:18 Tuesday morning.  Officers arrived onscene and found a victim inside an apartment with a gunshot wound tohis leg.  The victim was treated by EMSand transported to Coastal Carolina Medical Center for further treatment. 

Officers processed the crime scene andgathered evidence.  Police haveidentified29-year-old Dante Jenkins,of 163 Shadetree Street,Ridgeland as the suspect in the shooting. Two warrants have been issued for the arrest of Jenkins, 1) attemptedmurder and 2) possession of a handgun during the commission of a crime.  

Jenkins is considered armed and dangerous and the publicshould use extreme caution if you come in contact with him.  If you have any information on thewhereabouts of Jenkins you are asked to call Lt Daniel Litchfield or Sgt.
