Spann was killed early Friday morning on Hawaii Avenue in Savannah after suffering from a gunshot wound.  Police have arrested 20-year-old Fashad Kennedy for the crime.

Spann played on one of the best Savannah teams ever... the 2009-10 Groves Rebels.  They won 30 games that season and lost on a buzzer beater to Newton in the GHSA State Quarterfinals.  Spann was a young sophomore point guard on the team that developed into a scorer after transferring to Jenkins in the 11th grade.

In his junior season, he was named the Region 3-AAAAA Player of the Year.

Rashaad Spann was just 20 years old.
