Mosaic panels to brighten Safety Harbor Art and Music Center

Posted: Updated:
The Safety Harbor Art and Music Center is taking on a colorful and shiny new look.

Crews are installing colorful mosaic panels on the building in downtown Safety Harbor.

The mosaic project includes more than 240 panels that each measure 3 feet by 5 feet.

When the building is finished, the panels will completely cover the exterior of the building.

The project has gone on for more than a year and has involved more than 200 volunteers from young to old, designing and creating the panels.

Panels were installed on the eastern peak of the building on Thursday and Friday.

The Safety Harbor Art and Music Center has not yet opened to the public. The mission of SHAMc is to promote knowledge of and education in the fine arts, the visual arts, and the performing arts.

The Safety Harbor Art and Music Center, also called "SHAMc", is located at 706 2nd St. North.
