This month, the Telfair Museums launched their six month Slavery and Freedom in Savannah exhibition.
Tonight, as part of the event, the museum will host a book launch and free reception.
The book, as well as the exhibition, convey an American story of urban slavery and freedom through the unique lens of Savannah.
Tonight's reception is free to the public and it will include a special choral performance by the Windsor Forest Troubadours and Knights of Harmony, followed by a presentation by the editors of the book.
It kicks off at 6 at the Telfair Museum's Jepson Center at 207 W. York Street.
