Georgia Day Parade Postponed

The Georgia Historical Society has announced that the Georgia DayParade, scheduled for Wednesday, February 12 has been postponed due toinclement weather scheduled for Ddowntown Savannah.  The parade has beenrescheduled for Wednesday,February 19, at 10:30 a.m. 

 "The Georgia Day Parade is a long standing tradition in Savannah but withthe forecast calling for 100 % chance of rain the decision to postpone had tobe made in time to alert the thirty-three schools that are participating thisyear," said Dr. W. Todd Groce, President and CEO of the Georgia HistoricalSociety.  "Our first priority is always the welfare and safety ofGeorgia's school children."

The Parade will take place at the same time, 10:30 a.m., and follow the sameroute along Bull Street from Forsyth Park to City Hall on Wednesday, February19.

    The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office is searching for two missing, possibly endangered people out of Hilton Head Island. Kenneth Anderson, 87, and Phyllis Anderson, 85, were reportedly on their way to visit family in Lawrenceville, Ga. at about 10 a.m. on Friday.
