NC Medicaid billing system back online

Posted: Updated:
RALEIGH, N.C. -

After being down for nearly 24 hours, the NCTracks website was back up and running Wednesday morning.

According to the website, the NCTracks system was listed as available with no persistent issues reported. The website also said they are continuing to monitor performance of the Provider portal.

The NCTracks portal went down 8 am Tuesday. DHHS said Tuesday the outage shouldn't affect people who get Medicaid, since pharmacists can provide three days of supplies. However, the outage did affect the application process. People were unable to check claims online.

DHHS has had troubles with NCTracks since it's rollout July 1, 2013. Public hearings and state audits addressed backlogs in the system where some Medicaid providers weren't getting paid on time.
