Sonny Seiler to Receive Erk Russell Award at Hall of Fame

RELEASE BY THE GEORGIA SPORTS HALL OF FAME:

SONNY SEILER TO RECEIVE ERK RUSSELL AWARD AT HALL OF FAME INDUCTION

Wes Durham Will Handle Master of Ceremonies Duties

MACON, GA – Frank W. "Sonny" Seiler, owner of the University of Georgia's bulldog mascots,
will receive the Erk Russell Spirit Award on Saturday, February 22 in Macon. The award is
presented by the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame Foundation's board of directors and recognizes
contributions to sport that mirror the enthusiasm that Erk Russell brought to coaching football
and to all of life's endeavors.

Sonny Seiler is a life long resident of Savannah where he has raised each of the University of
Georgia's mascots beginning with Uga I in 1956 and continuing through the current mascot Uga
IX. During this time, Uga and Seiler have received national acclaim including being named
"Nation's Best College Mascot" by Sports Illustrated.

When not caring for Uga, Seiler has enjoyed a distinguished career as an attorney. He is the
active Senior Partner of Bouhan Falligant, specializing in trial law. He is the past President of the State Bar of Georgia and has served as Chairman of the University of Georgia Law School Board of Visitors. Seiler has been recognized with the Distinguished American Award given by the College Football Hall of Fame and has appeared in several feature films including Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.

The Spirit Award will be presented to Seiler during the annual Induction Ceremony of the
Georgia Sports Hall of Fame. Wes Durham will act as Master of Ceremonies at the banquet.
Durham is the radio play-by-play voice of the Atlanta Falcons and is in his first year broadcasting ACC basketball and football games for Fox Sports South and Raycom Sports. From 1995 to 2013, Durham called more than 750 basketball and football games for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets including trips to the Final Four and Orange Bowl.

The Induction Ceremony will be held at Macon's historic City Auditorium. The members of the
Class of 2014 who will be enshrined at the banquet are: James Brooks, Bobby Cremins, Jim
Hughes, Homer Rice, Hollis Stacy, Frank Thomas, Chester Webb, and Scott Woerner. The
weekend will begin with the GSHF Golf Classic at Idle Hour Country Club on Friday, February 21.
The annual FanFest will be held at the Hall of Fame on Saturday afternoon.

Tickets to the banquet may be purchased by calling the Hall of Fame offices at 478.752.1585.
