FROM STORM TEAM 3 CHIEF METEOROLOGIST KRIS ALLRED...
Winter Warm Up Begins Soon!
The Winter Storm of 2014 is coming to an end step by step. Before you know it, highs will reach the 70s over the weekend!
For tonight, any leftover drizzle will end, and our skies will eventually clear. With light north winds, overnight lows will drop to the mid 20s to around 30 for inland areas. Coastal areas will hold steady for much of the night in the mid 30s.
On Friday, our warm up truly begins. With mostly sunny skies, we will see highs get back close to 'normal.' We should see temps top out in the mid 50s to as warm as 60 degrees. The 'average' high this time of year is now 62 degrees.
On Friday night, we will all stay above freezing with lows only dropping to the mid 40s. Because of this warmer air now moving over the cooler inland and coastal waters, we will likely see areas of dense fog.
Over the weekend, it will be even warmer. Highs will reach the lower to mid 70s. We will, however, have a coastal disturbance that will bring more cloud cover and possibly isolated to scattered rain showers.
Keep Looking Up!
